Scheduled Lawn Mowing Services

Our professional lawn mowing services are scheduled weekly or bi-weekly, depending on the time of the year. You may think mowing is as simple as firing up the mower and going over the grass. In reality, to maintain a thriving yard, it is much more. Here are some of the items we consider.

How often your lawn needs mowed.

Every yard is different. We customize our approach to meet the unique needs of your lawn. Generally, mowing is done every other week at the end of the mowing season, and once per week during the growth months (April to September). This can vary depending on your grass type. In our area, we have both cool season and warm season grasses.

  • Cool season grasses include Fescue, Rye, and Kentucky Bluegrass
  • Warm season grasses include Bermuda, Zoysia, Centipede and St. Augustine

We mow using the 1/3rd rule.

This rule protects the health of your lawn by never removing more than one-third of the height of each blade of grass in the mowing process. Grasses, like any green plant, use photosynthesis to produce food. The leaves absorb sunlight and carbon dioxide and convert them into sugars. When more than one-third of the blade is removed, the grass is unable to adequately perform this process.

A common misconception is that a short-trimmed lawn is preferable, but we know that cutting your lawn too short weakens the root system, which can result in a dry, patchy lawn. Our goal, instead, is to give you a slightly higher cut that is neat and even in appearance.

Rotating the mowing pattern.

Rotating mowing directions allows grass shoots to grow upright, rather than leaning in a specific direction. This improves the overall appearance of your lawn.

Lawn Maintenance Services to Compliment Mowing

It takes more than just mowing to keep your yard looking great. With each mowing session, you’ll receive a few other services, such as:

  • Edging. We keep the edges of your lawn, and landscaping beds neat and attractive. This creates a sharp and finishing look.
  • Weed Eating & Trimming. We the time to carefully trim around your home, trees, mailbox, fence, patio, and any other structures on your property.
  • Blowing. We do a thorough job of clearing grass clippings off your sidewalks and driveway. We want you to be proud of your lawn mowing and maintenance service each and every time we visit.

Mulch & Pine Straw Installation Services

Although not part of your weekly maintenance, mulching is an important aspect to your landscaping for both beauty and functionality. Besides the aesthetics, mulch also provides many benefits such as moisture retention, insulation, erosion control, and more. Mulch installation is usually done on a yearly basis during the beginning of spring, should be laid at 2-3 inches to ensure maximum benefits.

We offer a wide variety of native North Carolina mulch to beautifully finish the appearance of your lawn. Our most popular mulch styles include:

  • Pine Straw
  • Pine Bark Mini Nuggets
  • Shredded Pine Bark
  • Triple-shredded Hardwood
  • Brown Designer Mulch
  • Black Designer Mulch

We offer trimming and pruning services for all of your shrubs, hedges, and small trees (sorry, no big tree work). These services help to ensure that your plants don’t become overgrown, retain their shape and fullness, and also stops the spread of disease from infected branches.
